This is a policy aimed at protecting against a highly unlikely possibility. As a teacher, I know teaching can be a stressful job. We are generally dedicated to our students and want to protect them. However, in stressful situations emotions can get the best of all of us. In a stressful situation of trying to maintain or establish discipline, I fear a gun may become a deadly alternative.
